the Smart way!

We of course get around in our little Smart - it has seen a lot of the country and is so easy to park in busy places, but public transport is good and you could of course use the Dutch way - bike!

Cycling is a good way to see The Netherlands - it has good cycle paths along the roads and it is flat!! They can often be hired at railway stations.

fast ferry

If you are in Rotterdam and want to go to Dordrecht (which is a lovely old city and well worth visiting) try going by fast ferry instead of by car or train. The ferry - a catamaran - does the trip in 45 minutes and it is good to see the city of Rotterdam from the water. The ferry leaves from the Willemskade which is a short tram ride (tram 5) of walk from the centre and the ferry tickets can be bought at the dock or on the ferry.
