White Island lies 49 kilometres off the coast of the Bay of Plenty. This active marine is full of hissing fumaroles, bubbling mud, steam and gasses spewing into the air.... we had to see it!

Hi Margaret, Het lijkt erop dat wij heel ver weg ongeveer dezelfde prachtige ervaring hebben gehad. Voor mij/ons was het bezoek aan White Island het tot nu toe absolute hoogtepunt van vele reizen.

I visited only Vesuvio (in-active) and Etna (a little activity that time) in Italy. This volcano on your pictures looks really very active = a must see for me :-)))
