Hi Ian and thanks for your feedback. I suspect either Durack or Doon Doon roadhouse are the places you might be referring to on the main highway. It appears dirt tracks head off from there toward Glen Hill/Mandangala (an aboriginal community?) which nestles in the foothills of what I now think must be the somewhat-secretive Ragged Range.

Yes, I can understand your difficulty. Heading north you go past Turkey Creek and the next place you get to, whose name escapes me, is not far from where you turn off.
Now, that place has a relatively new service station and caravan park and not much else and the key is to find that property on the map (I think it was Glen Elgin) and locate the road to that.
The road in is pebbly but should be a doddle in a 4WD as, rather obviously, I went in in my motorhome.
