Alternative Aberdeen....

by TracyG - last update: Jul 5, 2003

Aberdeen city and harbour
I am sure that the words; oil, granite and bad weather come to mind when thinking of Aberdeen, but there is a lot more to the 'Granite city' & 'The Oil Capital of Europe' besides all this. The weather is really not that bad, there is some great scenery nearby and the city is brilliant.
I have had a great few years studying at Aberdeen University and i'm sure you will enjoy your time here too...
I hope that you find this information useful and that I can encourage you to take a trip here, you will not regret it - Promise....

Pros:"Brilliant city life..."
Cons:"Can be very grey..."
In A Nutshell:"More than just oil and granite..."

happy birthday, fellow Pisces, and fellow graduate of Aberdeen. Though it must have changed since the 1960s!

Hardly anyone in Aberdeen speaks Gaelic. There are a few TV programmes in Gaelic, but you will NEVER hear it spoken other than that. Gaelic is only really spoken on the west coast or the hebridean islands.
