Since downtown Denver sits at 5280ft/1610m its nickname is "the Mile Hi City". Its also (lesser) known as the queen city of the plains. The Rocky Mountains sit just to the west of the city and the high plains are to the east Denver is one of only a handful of American cities with a professional baseball, (american) football, basketball, and hockey team. |
