A description of what you will see

Methana, a volcanic peninsula of north-eastern Peloponnese, the Saronic Gulf, with a population of approximately 2000 residents, despite the relatively small scale, is a unique combination of colorful pictures that pleasantly surprise and eventually excite the visitor.

The location, the variety and changes of the natural landscape, dominated by green vegetation and brown-red volcanic craters, beautiful beaches, hot springs and cultural heritage, make it particularly attractive destination for holidays all seasons, for healing and rejuvenation, but also for "weekend getaways". On Methana, also, the visitor has the opportunity to make day trips to ancient Epidaurus, Nafplion, Mycenae, or the islands of the Saronic Gulf (Poros, Hydra, Spetses). The peninsula is accessible by road or sea can (from Piraeus). The main feature of the peninsula of Methana is the unique natural and cultural environment that attracts visitors with its variety and transitions, but also the geological peculiarities.
Particularly interesting is the volcanic crater, near the village of Kameni Chora, in the northwestern mainland, a total of 30, all ages, craters are scattered across the peninsula. The ascent to space (half-hour course about passable marked path) offers hikers a unique experience: travel in dense vegetation of pines, arbutus, holly and elies.Stin town of Methana
The verdant pine island of Ag (which joins the road to the city) with the homonym church and the remains of ancient fortifications, opposite the majestic building of the spa and Vromolimni with sulfur springs, settlements and St. Haralambos Dritseika ( just outside the city), with fine examples of traditional architecture.

The ruins of the acropolis of ancient Methana

. Spas
The hot springs of Methana prominently in its history of the area. It was already known since ancient times and used some of it already!
