stayed at the chelsea towers hotel which is an aparthotel. had 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious and clean. was on the 39th floor so also a spectacular view. you do need to be high up because there are alot of tall buildings along the sheikh sayed road which could obstruct view.
Apartment good for self catering with all necessary amnities including a close supermarket.
Internet expensive but good connection.
swimming pool nice an on 6th floor on top of car park.
staff courteous and efficient usually

A shoppers paradise with many large malls with vast number of shps and all designer names you could want. not sure though that prices are really that competitive.
The tallest bulding in the world the Burj khalifa is well worth a visit, as is the trip to the observation area on the 124th floor there but it does get booked up so plan the visit.
Dubai Museum small but very informative.
Dubai Marina certainly has some expensive boats to see.
Palm Jumeira worth a visit.
So many tall buildings some of which are quite spectacular.
Eating out was good and seemed cheap compared to England
Taxis numerous and again cheap.
Metro was efficient and good means of getting from A to B

• Cons:the views can be obstructed by other tall buildings
