Bayahibe is a quaint small fishing village on the caribbean south coast of the Dominican Republic around 30 minutes drive from La Romana International Airport. It is also the centre for the many trips out to Saona Island. Even if you are staying as far afield as Punta Cana you will depart by boat for Saona from Bayahibe.
I spent two weeks staying at the 4 star Casa del Mar in September 2001 and would have no hesitation in recommending this particular hotel. Please see travelogue for further photos. |
