  • Possibly the most famous theme park in the world. Yet the Magic Kingdom contains none of the really scary rides you associate with the modern theme park. Its hard to put your finger on why it is so good, but it is. After parking your car you still have about a mile to go. You take a tram ride to the transportation center. There you can buy your tickets and are faced with the choice of either going by monorail or boat to the park entrance. Boat is my choice, especially for that first visit. Getting to the park early is the key to going on as many rides as possible. Try to arrive an hour before the park opens.
Get a map and decide on your first ride. Splash Mountain is a good one to start. The lines soon build up, but you may get to go on three or four rides before the queues really start.
Another good tip is to go to the park first thing, stay until about 11am then leave remembering to get your hand stamped for re-entry. Return to the park at about 3pm when other people are starting to leave. This way you miss the mid-day Florida sun which can be a real killer

  • I have included this as a must see, but really I am not sure anymore. Everything in Epcot has started to seem really dated. You probably should go once, but is is doubtful whether is is worth a second trip. The best thing is the firework show at the end which is superb

  • MGM is very good with lot of really good rides and shows. An early-bird ride should be the tower of terror as it is the one ride with slow moving and very long queues. Do not miss the Muppets 3D it is brillant. I cannot remember a bad ride or show in MGM

    Gatorland: Gatorland

  • Gatorland is in my opinion the best of the smaller attractions in Orlando. For UK visitors who don't intend going out into the wilds of Florida it is a must see. You will not believe how big these creatures grow. There are a number of shows, all of which are good. The highlight is the Gator Jumperoo when they hang chickens above the water and the alligators jump out of the water to get them.

    Sea World: Sea World

  • Enjoyment of this attraction depends alot on your views regarding performing Whales and Dolphins. There is no doubt that these creatures belong in the sea. There is also no doubt that very few people whould get to see a killer whale anywhere other than Sea World. Sea World Florida also features a couple of thrill rides including the new journey to Atlantis, a sort of giant log flume. I really enjoyed the Manetee center where injured manatees are rehabilitated. It is a sad fact that the future of this species depends very much on places like Sea World
