Flight Deck at Dawn

Thousands of snow geese come to Bosque del Apache each winter. Arrive before dawn to catch take off for their morning flight. We caught them flying directly over our car while driving around the loop while it was still dark. Here is a small flock lifting up from the water.

    Only a few birds when we were here - but lots of cute turtles ;-)

      winter is the time to come and see the birds...on the order of 20,000 geese, 10,000 sandhill cranes..pretty amazing!!
