  • Favorite Thing: One of the first things we noticed about Kyoto was the large tower knon as the 'Kyoto Tower' which stands high above the Kyoto Rail Station. It happens to be the tallest structure in Kyoto so you won't miss it upon your arrival in the city. If you ever get lost just look for the tower and you know you'll eventually end up at the train station. Unless you like spending your hard earned money on expensive elevator rides don't even bother paying nearly $11 usd to go to the top of this tower. You can see a similar view of Kyoto from the top floor of the Kyoto Station building just across the street.

  • Favorite Thing: Kyoto is a beautiful city for walking. Set out in any direction and you are bound to encounter something amazing.

Fondest Memory: My family and I took a peaceful stroll along Tetsugaku-no-michi, which is also known as the Philospher's Path. It's a tree lined, narrow walkway that follows a crystal clear river in which we spotted colorful Koi fish along the way. depending upon the season you visit you may be lucky to see the Cherry blossom trees in bloom or the Japanese maple awash in fall colors. This was one of our more relaxing walks.

  • Fondest Memory: Maybe we're all a philosopher while walking along Tetsugaku-no-michi.......if only for a moment.

Hi, I like your first photo. The lady really looks happy (and a little shy) being photographed. Hope you had a good time in Kyoto.

Just thought you'd want to know the picture you have labeled "Girls in traditional kimono" are two maiko! You can tell by their hairstyles.
