Istanbul is, like, really, old. And if you didn't already know it, it's Istanbul, not Constantinople, now.

Istanbul is interesting just to walk around. Old Istanbul, pictured, is still on the European continent, yet as soon as you touch down, you know that you're in another land.

Pictured is part of the ancient city wall, not far from the train station which is the terminus of the old Orient Express, of Agatha Christie fame. Antiquity is no big deal in Turkey; it's ALL old. As such, it isn't unusual to see piles of tires along an ancient wall and fountain, in a neo auto repair road.
