Wherever you go, there you are, and a dose of reality is what you get when you return home from traveling.
An acquaintance of mine from the Lonely Planet Thorntree (thorntree.lonelyplanet.com) mentioned this site, I looked it up, and decided it would be the easiest way for me to convey photographs of my last trip, to Southeast Asia, to a guy whom I met in Myanmar, and with whom I travelled for a couple of weeks. And it's easier to tell my friends to take a look at the stuff on this site rather than subject them to twenty photo albums.
This being my primary goal, I have tried to select SEA photographs that I liked best, and picked off some still photo shots from the hours of video that I filmed. Also, I have some miscellaneous jpgs from previous trips lying around on my machine, so I've put several of them up in the meantime.
Lastly, I'm sort of thinking about my next trip. Several people that I met in SEA mentioned Nepal and India, so that's one thought. I only spent enough time in Indonesia to visit Borobudur and Prambanan on the island of Java, and I'd still like to go to Sumatra etc. (avoiding all of the upheaval stuff, of course). Ethiopia is one of the last places that still sticks in my craw, having something to do with its being one of the prime suspects as a repository for the Ark of the Covenant. (*Somebody* has to go on all of these religious quests, so it might as well be me!) So, if you're interested in a travel companion for a trip to any of these places, or can convince me that there are even more terrific places that I should visit first (China, maybe, or Ecuador?), do let me know!
Oh, by the way, I often hang out on the LPTT site; hints for two of my handles are contained somewhere within these pages.
See my Jokes travelogue for a new ongoing repository of jokes. Enjoy!
BTW, that mystery woman is me, in Jerash, Jordan, just before the New Millenium.
Hope to see you on the road again,
Sue.
