"Amsterdam" Amsterdam by Benson35

If you arrive in the centre of Amsterdam by train, you will terminate at Central Station.
It's a big train station and there are plenty of shops where you can grab something to eat or a drink on your way.
When you walk out of the station at the main exit, you will be faced with a large street straight ahead. It's where the majority of the shops are and money exchange places.
The next thing I noticed were the bicycles! There are literally 100s of them! When crossing a road, don't think it's OK if you can't see any cars/busses/trams - you need to be aware of the bicycles!

I would certainly say that you need to explore Amsterdam by foot. There are so many little streets to explore and a walk along the canal on a hot, sunny day is really relaxing.
The houses are narrow and tall and really interesting.
I came across lots of things that I wouldn't have found if I travelled by bus or tram.
So my recommendation - WALK!

In Amsterdam, you can find something for the majority of people. Some of the things that I've done during my two visits are:
A canal boat ride.
Visited Anne Franks house
Visited a coffee shop
Madame Tussauds
The Red Light district
The Van Gogh Museum
Heineken Experience (Brewery tour)
Enjoyed the design and facades of the houses
