You will find he most exquist architecture in this city. There is a mix of old, older and new buildings (mainly older). The care and attention to detail on these buildings are amazing.
Gaudi's house is just simply beautiful from the outside and inside (more detail in my 'things to do' section at the bottom of the page).
There are churches, cathedrals and imaginative detail on most buildings.

In my opinion, if you're in a city for a few days and want to see as much as possible, a sightseeing tour bus is the way to go.
You are able to see all of the most famous sights in a short space of time.
Personally, I go on these tours for a day, find out lots of information and history, then I know the places where I want to explore more. You also get an idea as to where the places are and how far they are from where you are staying.

This particular tour in Barcelona, has two routes. You are able to do the two routes in a day.

About to enjoy a San Miguel with friends!

Amongst the beautiful buildings and history, there are plenty of shopping areas, places to eat and bars.
There is also a beach and a port where the cruise ships come to dock. The shopping area in the marina is small but nice! You can still grab a few treats for yourself!! It's nice to have a beer over looking the water too!

Barcelona has a fantastic nightlife and excellent tube transport service.
