I've been three times in Bangkok. The first time I didn't like it at all. Actually I was schoked in my first trip. The second trip was better. And the third trip was excellent.
Bangkok is commonly called the city of angels or by Thai "KRUNGTHEP". Bangkok is a very hectic city. The streets are lively and vivid all the time. The negative side of this city is that it has too many poor and homeless people. Shopping is fantastic in Bangkok and it's one of my favourite hobbies anyway (no matter where I am). Everything is so much cheaper than in my homecountry Finland.
Prepare for hot and humid climate when travelling in Thailand. And when there is a storm and thunder, you can really experience it because it is so intense. |

Sininen Wed Jan 2, 2008 17:58 UTC Hei Petra! Samansuuntaisia ajatuksia minullakin on näin ensimmäisen Bangkokin matkan jälkeen. Ehkä toisella tai kolmannella kerralla avautuisi minullekin. Oikein hauskaa syntymäpäivää! | simpsa01 Tue Feb 6, 2007 13:49 UTC So you only visit cultural havens such as Bangkok see tourist attractions, then? Obviously it's nice to visit them, but surely it's the cultural insight, seeing how the locals live compared to back home, that makes a trip... | Pimilan Sat Sep 24, 2005 08:38 UTC Nice fotos and great tip | pmarshuk Mon Apr 19, 2004 16:11 UTC Great tips here. You don't need to be a shopaholic to like it here - but it obviously helps |
