Whitby Travel Guide: 364 reviews and 754 photos
A beautiful little city on the east coast. First impressions are smell of fish and chips, sight of the harbour with plenty of fishing boats.
I say 'town of contrasts' because on one side you fall in love with it in a second - in its beach and serenity on the hill where cemetery and church are with the view to the sea - and at the same time you start screaming because you have to elbow your way through the streets at some points.

- Pros:enormous sand beach, great food, plenty of things to do, Whitby Abbey
- Cons:crowded
- In a nutshell:A picturesque coastal town with great views and food - if you want to taste fish and chips - the best!
