"Mustang Island Beach Club (MIBC)" Port Aransas by mmcmillin

Have been going to Port A for years from Central TX and have stayed from the highly rated (and costly) to budget condos, motels, etc. Ran across Mustang Island Beach Club by accident on a "spontaneous" opportunity to run to the beach during summer season by finding a 2 BR unit available at a reasonable cost with rental starting the next day...hard to find. Were truly shocked at the value, quality, and location of our unit when we arrived the next day. Rate was great, unit was over 1000 sq. ft., complex facilities were complete (with exception of hot tub that's undergoing upgrade) and you could walk/drive to the private boardwalk for beach access. Complex is undergoing renovations (both individual units and overall) and looks to be an even better place to stay once done...still darn good now. Has game room for kids, pool is clean but small, and atmosphere is informal. Has parking garage for one car for each unit which is great, but tight on overflow parking for boats, etc. Beach is great because it's half way between public beach access, so little traffic or crowds. Will definitely return. Have stayed in 112 that has great sunrise/gulf view and shade in afternoon on large deck. Also in other units with each having advantages.
