Short introduction

Bijeljina is a city and center of the Bijeljina municipality in the north-eastern part of the Republika Srpska. It covered area of 734 km ² with population of approximately 150 000 inhabitants.
The city is the municipal center and historical center of the flat Semberija and gentle hills Majevica. Bijeljina was first mentioned 1446 in old document. Story say that trough Bijljina was passing trough medieval road from Zvornik to Macva, Mitrovica and Hok.

Based of amendment XL on Constitution of Republika Srpska, National essembly of Republika Srpska, with support of Council of Nations Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted decree about the proclamation of the City of Bijeljina.
Officially from 19th July 2012. Bijeljina, Doboj, Prijedor and Trebinje is City.
