Settlements in what is now the city existed in the Roman period, and

It is funny oral folks legends about the name of city. One legend says that the girls were splatter (Serbian: брчкање, read - brchkanje) in the river when they were young mans secretly watched. According to another legend, the city was named after a splatter (Serbian: брчкање, read - brchkanje) whiskered guys (Serbian: бркати момци, read - brkati momci) in the river.

Also, the same status are expected for the building of a primary school that had been previously placed Merchant Academy, the Palace of Palestine, as well as the Church of the Holy Virgin in factory Majevica in Grčić village.
For now, Commission to Preserve National Monuments keep records of cultural and historical heritage for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina and define the so-called provisional list of 20 objects from the District, as a whole, and one ambient.
