This is the time of the year where it is good to go away from cold/dark/snowy Finland and enjoy the sun a little bit more South :-)!
Again this was a short 5 days trip and I managed to get the flu for 2 days, so not much of hiking there even if planned.
For locals its winter time with temperatures around 20C degrees. It was funny to watch their surprise as I was wearing corsair pants and T-shirt while they were wearing winter coats.
The sun was hot, I burned my nose but the cool wind forced me to use my sweatshirt quite often. Anyhow, these little things did not prevent me to fully enjoy my little vacation on this wonderful island.
The panorama pictures has been taken from the top of Castelmola (530m) down Taormina and the Ionian sea. On the far right, behind some clouds (you can't avoid them) is Etna.

LysDor's experience is exactly what I experienced a week ago. The Villa Fabbiano is an incredible find, and a wonderful place to stay!
Excellent page, great pictures. I liked Taormina a lot in early May, even driving a car was exciting haha. Hmm... the lifts to Etna were closed as well - do they open them anytime?
