Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. At 540 square kilometres, it's about the same size as Singapore. Just over an hour away by plane from Bangkok or Singapore.
The island offers large variety of activities from seaside water related ones to rain-forest hiking trips not to mention cultural interests and a good nightlife to please anyone coming here. |
| | Most of you might remember a James Bond 007 film with breathtaking scenaries taken around Phang Nga Bay - that tall funny cylinder-shaped Island!!
Unfortunatly as the weather was so rainy we didn't go see those weird looking islands

tangomango Tue May 13, 2008 08:22 UTC So interesting to see how Phuket has changed so much from 1991... | Tina-Perth Tue Jul 12, 2005 04:44 UTC Patong was cut off from the rest of the island due to the lack of a road until recent years. Some people would die before they could make it to hospital. It is a great spot though, glad you enjoyed it. | Confucius Thu May 29, 2003 09:00 UTC Greetings from China! The James Bond Island is actually northeast of Phuket at Phang Nga Bay, not at Ko Phi Phi. I like your Phuket photos! Best wishes, Confucius | Mike25 Sat Mar 8, 2003 11:50 UTC beautiful pictures. |
