"CHRISTMAS 2003 IN ALSACE" Turckheim by LysDor

This was our first Christmas abroad. Uselly we spend it in Finland but wanted something different this time.

Maybe I should state here the "real" reason, lol. Finland finally allowed the free flow of alcohol as from the 1st of January 2004.This is why we came to Alsace to bring back a few bottles of good Grand-Crus.
Nine month before we bought a SUV-car in order to be able to fill it with as many bottles as possibles,lol!!

So,you can imagine we had a pretty good load of fine wines and of course some beers coming back with us to our cave.

I'll also try to put all information on Wines and Winegrovers in the "Shopping Tips" section in all my Alsacian pages.
Maybe you'll even find some notes about the wines we bought and tasted back home...

VINE FIELDS

This time we focused on Grand-Crus from Brand and Hengst located around Turckheim.

HENGST WINEYARDS

It was a bit chilly but dry. So, taking long walks in these wineyards was great especially from the point of view of Petrus our little dog.

He was delighted not to get wet among all these vine fields and could concentrate on new smells!
