Welcome to my little World of Travels

My Very FIRST Airline Ticket

Do you know anyone having taken his/her very first trip by air to his/her home country?

Well I did aged only 5 weeks from Paris to Helsinki with the airline ticket shown above!
I must say that I can't remember much from that journey but I guess that it was when that "travel-bug" hit me.
The reason is simple. My father was working in the airline industry and we h a d to fly a lot between France and Finland to visit family and friends. Not to mention all holiday travels that we made abroad. My ever first intercontinental flight landed in Bangkok when I was 14 years old and since then I've been returning to Thailand a few times and a lot of more countries too.

Later and living on my own in Finland I just had to go every two weeks out of the country. In my college years it was easy to take the ferry and go shopping in Stockholm.

But this wasn't enough for me. While I was a translation student, I worked every summer holidays in airline companies or travel agencies only to end up working full-time at Sabena (which unfortunatly doesn't exist anymore).
Now I could fulfill my dream and travel for business and pleasure as much as I could - and I did.

Nowadays that we have two dogs we prefer slower transportation modes such as car + boat combination to take us to inner mid-Europe.
As we are building a wine cellar we need to fill it with good wines. This is one of the reasons for our yearly visits to Germany and France.

You might also wonder why some of my pages doesn't have any photos? Well before I got my digital camera I used some basic cameras and got tired of taking bad photos, that is why I have a gap of few years in my travel pictures.

Places I have lived at least one year:
* Ivry-sur-Seine (near Paris) - France
* Uccle (near Brussels) - Belgium
* Pinner (London suburb) - United Kingdom
* Kuopio - Finland
* Turku - Finland
* Helsinki - Finland
Summers (and holidays):
* Ylästö - Finland
* Mäntyharju - Finalnd
* Ypäjä - Finland

My best travel pages and most updated:
* Brussels
* Lisbon
* Helsinki
* Beijing
* Munich
* Tallinn
* Casablanca
* Tokyo
* Bangkok
* Grand Cayman
* Turckheim
* California road-trip

...well just to mention a few of my 37 countries I have visited so far and some quite a few times !

Here is my second younger dog. A yorkie boy named Latour (yes like the french wine, lol) posing in his new winter jacket and shades!

I had the opportunity to drive a snow-mobile. Last time I did it was twenty years ago in lapland!!

What a great way to spend a whole day outdoors.

The "pink" mini-suite

I'm spending more and more time at the country cottage located at YPÄJÄ - a small rural town also known as Finland's horse county!

This is the only area where there are no water what so ever :-(
- only flat landscapes where farmers are busy cultivating.

Even me "real city girl" have managed to harvest (lol) some berries, apples, flowers, potatoes, carrots and herbs!

We are busy with my hubby to renovate the house - a real big project as all parts are dating from the late 70's and need to be freshen-up. The hardest part has been so far the building of the new shower room for guests and the installation of water pipes into the rocky ground. It is finally ready -I can tell a real live 3-D puzzle, lol!!

The "pink" guest mini-suite is now ready

...and also the kitchen.
Well the uppper floor is ready. Walls have to be build next before starting thinking aboud desings !!
The NEW kitchen almost finished

My business

I started in 2005 my own business called Yappy Fashion. This is the very first luxury pet boutique in the country and I'm the first to have launched the trend in Finland.

 Haha, at -22C, I wouldn't go out even with a fur coat! Latour must be big now! So, is he clad in bikini now? ;-)
