Lancaster County

A driving tour on a rainy day

Ephrata Cloister
My sister, brother-in-law, mom, nephew and I decided to take a day trip from Philadelphia and visit Amish country, better known as Lancaster County. There are other pages here on VT that focus more on the Amish culture, so I'm going to try to offer something a little different on this page.

The rain didn't really cooperate with great picture taking and strolling around, but the beautiful green, rolling hills and the picturesque and well-kept farms are wonderful to view from a car. We visited Intercouse, Bird in Hand, Lancaster and Ephrata.

I returned to Lancaster County exactly a year later for a VT meeting in Intercourse (the puns are endless!) and had a great time meeting some great friends.

A great little page, considering that it was wet and overcast at the time! Some nice looking architecture in the area!!

Mark, I really enjoyed reading about Lancaster and the surrounding area. Your tips are useful, interesting, and helpful. Even with the rain, the photos are great.
