"Belmont in Bloom!" Belmont by acemj
Belmont Travel Guide: 14 reviews and 25 photos
I can't think of too many reasons that a tourist would visit the sleepy town of Belmont, North Carolina. However, if you do, don't miss the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in the southern part of town on the edge of Lake Wylie. The gardens are a must for any visitor in the greater Charlotte area (Belmont is a short drive from the largest city in the Carolinas) who is a true lover of botany. Belmont also boasts a quaint and historic downtown as well as a beautiful yet small college campus and abbey.
My last visit to Belmont took me to the DSBG on a hot day in June of 2003. I'm not a real flower lover, but who wouldn't enjoy strolling around a garden filled with bright colored flowers, brick paths, natural arbors, fourtains and streams.

Great page dear Mark, I wish I can visit Belmont one day, nat told me a lot about it!
yes my tip too..Hibiscus :-))and white Hortensias, after the trip to the animals, this is an other fine back to nature page. thanx Mark, I enjoyed that
I've always wanted to see a movie in one of those drive-in places, we don't have that in "old Europe"... BTW, the unknown flower seems an hibiscus, don't know its name in english though :-))
A stone welcoming you to walk on the grass! that's cool. Great outing and a drive in for dessert! Beautiful page!
Great page Mark! The botanical garden looks great! Coming from Europe I've never been to a Drive in, hahaha, but I hope to do it some day! It sounds weird but fun to me, sitting in your car and watch a movie :-)
Some of these sleepy little places are the best. What beautiful botanic gardens - even better when they expand it. The dome is really impressive.
The intro picture is so beautiful, all flowers too! Did you finally become wet?
Awww, we can't stay there? Heh heh. Beautiful!
Nice destination and the Botanical Gardens look great. Heat? You could jump in the fountain, it's not Del Mar, maybe it's not illegal :-))) Beautiful picture of DSBG Gift Shop (guess why?) :-))!
Never heard of this particular place, but it seems to be a relaxing, calm place with a beautiful botanical garden! Good work!
