"A Superior Town . . . Duluth, MN" Duluth by acemj

Duluth Travel Guide: 306 reviews and 463 photos

Duluth is a great three hour daytrip from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The port city is located on the western tip of Lake Superior about half-way between Minneapolis and the Canadian border. If at all possible, try to set aside a few extra days to see the city and its surrounding area. From Duluth, drive northeast on along the lake's North Shore and you'll discover some amazing, rugged coast and beautiful wooded lands.

As a kid, we occasionally drove up to Duluth to do some camping and to breathe the crisp, clean air in this area. A quick study of Duluth's history will reveal its Ojibwe Indian roots as well as a heavy influence from French settlers. Another interesting historical note is that at one time Duluth boasted more millionaires than any other city in the world!

Great to see beautiful Duluth and surroundings I do hope to visit someday! Your mom's land looks very pretty and reminds me some parts of... Poland.

Hey, I didn't know you lived in Minnesota - I lived there, but didn't like the Lutefisk!

Bit surprising to see so much nature in Duluth. (You forgot to mention it is the birthplace of Bob Dylan.)

Aha! Proof positive that acemj HAS hiked! City boy, huh? It seems you HAVE stubbed your toe in the wilderness.
