Central Grocery: Great muffaletta to go Groceries Review

This is literally a neighborhood store, but it's most well known for the muffaletta, a giant sandwich made of Italian bread, meats and cheeses with an olive dressing. I couldn't handle a full muffaletta, but fortunately they sell half-sandwiches, which are around $5.

Jackson Brewery Shops: The Jax Jackson Brewery Shops Review

This mall (locals just call it "the Jax") is filled with souvenir shops as well as a few restaurants. You'll find Pat O'Brien's other location upstairs, a Virgin Record Shop where I escaped an afternoon rainstorm and spent over an hour browsing and listening to jazz. There is also a tourist information booth inside.

Directions: Between Decatur Street and the Moonwalk (Waterfront) in the Quarter

Flea Market: Crafts, souvenirs and gifts French Market Review

Along Decatur Street, you'll find the French Market, the Farmer's Market and lastly the Flea Market. Each is a good option for buying various souvenirs. The flea market is stocked with cheap tee shirts and crafts and is worth a look.

Plenty of choices: Tourist Shops Souveniers Review

There are lots of tourist shops all around the French Quarter, but the one I liked the best was Toulouse Royal Gifts. They sell all of the usual items such as shot glasses, beads, tee shirts and postcards, but the quality is a bit higher and the prices are reasonable.

What to buy: Beads, hot sauces, Cafe Du Monde Chickory Coffee & Beignet Mix, cookbooks, Mardis Gras masks, New Orleans music, etc.

Hot Sauce: Local products Jackson Brewery Shops Review

Actually, I can't remember the name of this store, but it's located on the top floor of the Jackson Brewery Shopping Center and it specializes in all things New Orleans. This is a photo of an amazing selection of hot sauces!
