I lived in San Diego during my high school years and absolutely loved the place. What's not to love? The average temperature throughout the year is 70 degrees. There's a really old joke that the easiest job in the world is to be a weather forecaster in San Diego. In the winter, you can pretty much count on 60-65 degrees and sunny and in the summer it's almost always between 70-80 degrees. Technically, San Diego is a desert, so the evenings are cool, but it's not too hot because the temperature is regulated by its coastal position. Ahh, perfection.
San Diego is no longer a best kept secret. I've been out there a few times in the past five years and each time it seems to grow. Despite the slightly more crowded streets and highways, it's still an incredible city.
San Diego County is physically the biggest county in the country, so when I refer to San Diego, I'm talking about a huge area of land. It stretches (in my mind) from Mexico, half-way up to Los Angeles.
It's so hard for me to decide on my favorite US city, but San Diego, I must confess, is always the first to come to mind. |

YVRDave Mon Dec 17, 2007 03:09 UTC Hey Mark. I was contemplating whether to rate with my mouse over the rating area when it entered by itself. I just couldn't give you a rating then not explain, sorry. | b1bob Wed Feb 1, 2006 18:34 UTC Normally I'm very open-minded about trying new foods, but I really can't envisage me eating fish tacos. I like fish (somewhat) and I like tacos, I just don't think they'd be good together. | Pawtuxet Wed Nov 24, 2004 00:10 UTC you've summed it up pretty good. We'll be back to SD in Jan. to see my son. Nice to visit....still want to live in New ENgland, tho. | globetrott Mon May 24, 2004 00:23 UTC a lovely page & great pics, and low-budget restaurant-tips are for some people even more precious than pricey places... |
