Zakopane Travel Guide: 360 reviews and 855 photos

Before I set foot in Poland, I knew that I wanted to visit the Tatras Mountains and Zakopane, so it was with great anticipation that I visited in October of 2005. Zakopane is the most popular base for tourists visiting the mountains in both summer and winter and as a result, it has plenty of good hotels and restaurants. There are some interesting religious buildings here, a nice market and an interesting highland culture that's worthy of exploration. However, I came here for the mountains and hiking on high is what I'll remember most.

Some of the best semi-firm cheese ever.....pan fry it with a little butter, and eat with a little jam! Great.

St. Clement Church is remarkable. I stopped only for a night in Zakopane and unfortunately I missed all these attractions. You have great pictures here and definitely so interesting comments.
