Nightlife Spot: Eating and Drinking
The Leidseplein area is packed with great restaurants and British style pubs, most serving the typical Heineken, Grolsch or Amstel brews. But if you can, find a brown cafe, which is a Dutch beer hall where you can sample some more creative brews. My favorite area to wander at night was Spui, where you'll find great bars and restaurants to hang out.

andreasfmpro Sat Sep 8, 2007 13:28 UTC The love afair of the Dutch with bicycles is amazing. Here in greece, I seem to be among the few who find the bicycle the most reasonable means of transportation. | vpeter Sun Jun 24, 2007 21:27 UTC Yep, bikes are everywhere. Not only in Amsterdam but in the whole Netherlands:-) Happy travels. Greetings from the Netherlands. | Nemorino Mon Jan 8, 2007 12:22 UTC Glad you enjoyed your visit despite the February weather. I rented a bike when I was there last May and had a great time cycling all around. | tissie Mon Oct 16, 2006 12:56 UTC Thanks, reminded me of my trip to Amsterdam too long ago (1980), it's a lovely place, must go back sometime! |
