Okay, there's no doubt that this place was pretty dismal. I wouldn't stay here again, especially considering the lack of a vibrant nightlife in Luxembourg City (which means you might spend more time in your room getting a good night's sleep). However, I was looking for a cheap place and didn't feel like walking around with my backpack too long. This place is literally on the street directly in front of the main entrance to the trains station (runs perpendicular to the street in front of the station). This place is in what makes for the city's red light district and when I pushed open the door, I was greeted (or stared at) by a guy from Cameroon who was watching the door. He was nice enough and told me it was 40 Euros for a room with the bathroom down the hall.
Unique Qualities: My room wasn't filthy, but wasn't sparklingly clean either. It had a small sink in the room and an uncomfortable bed. It turned out to be fairly quiet at night, so sleeping wasn't too bad. The bathroom down the hall was dirty enough that I decided to skip the shower and use my sink for a splash bath the next morning.

mifal Sun Jul 12, 2009 06:50 UTC Luxembourg is NOT Europe's smallest sovereign state. Liechtenstein, Monaco and San Marino are smaller in area. Iceland has a smaller population. | matcrazy1 Sun Sep 3, 2006 01:45 UTC A very good "A few thoughts" general tip, I agree 100%. Thanks for letting me know where not to sleep and what to see more than I was lucky to see in 1990' there. | Dabs Sat Aug 26, 2006 22:15 UTC Nice writeup Mark, you're making me regret that I'm overnighting there though ;-) But at least it's not in your hotel LOL | spanishguy Fri Aug 11, 2006 17:09 UTC What a wonderful page Mark! Ok, as all your pages are. I have never been in here and, after visit your page, I know I must to go. Perfect pictures!! |
