Cafe Zurich Because of its Placa Catalunya address, it's one of the best people-watching locales in the city. The coffee is good too!

Tapas Bars. If you're in Spain, you must do as the Spanish do and eat tapas. I don't know which places are the best in town. I just wandered into a lot of them! What a great way to eat!
Favorite Dish: Sample all you can.

Maoz Falafel
Favorite Dish: If you're on a budget, try this great little falafel stand just off La Rambla. I had the greatest falafel I've ever had here. So good and so cheap!

Directions: Carrer Ferran. From Placa Catalunya, walk down Las Ramblas about halfway, go left at Ferran (you'll see a KFC) and it's about 100 yards down on your left.

Restaurant Name: Les Quinze Nits
For many of you savvy VT travelers, the sight of an enormous line outside of a restaurant in a touristy part of town might discourage you. I had the same thought, but I was with others who really wanted to give it a try, so we decided to jump in line early and try it out. The place opens at 8:30pm and they don't take reservations, so your best bet is to get here by around 8. The food and service were both excellent and the prices were very reasonable.
Favorite Dish: The desserts tasted as good as they looked.

There are a few choices for outdoor dining in Placa Reial and on my first day in town, I decided to enjoy some paella at this place. It was served with some traditional Spanish toast (rubbed with fresh tomatoes) and I also splashed it down with some great sangria. Yum.

When you think of cities with great bakeries, Barcelona probably isn't the first to come to mind. Well, I enjoyed some wonderful breads and pastries at different bakeries around town. The one pictured here was near my hostel (Hostal Levante) in Barri Gotic, but there are many to choose from.

pynewacket66 Sat Jun 13, 2009 22:28 UTC The worst food and flamenco show I have ever partaken in. The whole time the dancers were laughing. We paid 120 euro (for 2) for dinner and it tasted like a week old. Do not waste your money. There are shows you can enjoy in Barcelona w/o the high price. | anpe Thu Jun 22, 2006 23:31 UTC YOUR PAGE ARE REALLY GREAT!!!YOUR TIPS AND YOUR PICS.........FANTASTIC!
