Madrid is a great city to go for a walk at night. Many of the major sights like Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real and the fountains are lighted up and are really enjoyable to see at night.

Cafe del Nuncio: Last stop . . . Cafes Review

Finally, we made it to this place and most of us ordered some variety of coffee realizing that this long night was coming to an end soon. It was pretty late and we were all starting to get pretty goofy talking about the best looking male and female celebrities and other important matters like that. This place was great to just wind down and relax. They were playing laid back music and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable.

Casa Antonio: Next up on our tapas tour . . . Tapas Review

Located in Old Madrid below Plaza Mayor, Casa Antonio had a very cozy feel. The place was full of tables packed closely together with people socializing and having a great time. We spent about an hour here getting to know each other a little better.

La Rua is another tapas bar in Plaza Mayor that is known for their bocata de calamares (fried squid sandwiches). We enjoyed the calamares and some more beers.

El Cuchi Mexican Restaurant: Tapas hoppin' with VTers! Tapas Review

On my latest trip to Madrid (February 2003), I met with VTers la beba (Glenda), SirRichard (Joaquin), agarcia (Alfredo), Ariadne555 (Maria), sonny (Juan Antonio), Petite_Prince (Daniel), Sonia, and Andrew. We spent a great night going to different tapas bars. We started here at El Cuchi just behind Plaza Mayor and enjoyed some beers and good conversation.

Newly Renovated Teatro Real Opera and classic Review

The Royal Theater was closed from 1988 until 1997 due to structural problems. However, the new version has been completely modernized while retaining the charm of the original structure (classic opera house balconies, plush seating, etc.).

Dress Code: Dress well. No jeans or sneakers.
