Playing soccer in Germany in 1989, I was privileged enough to stay with a great family in Stuttgart for a week. My host family's mother was up early every morning laying out breads and spreads on the kitchen table so that I wouldn't go hungry out there on the field. The people of Stuttgart were incredibly warm and welcoming. Every evening the son of the family, whose local soccer club we played against, would take us out to a different pub and would somehow get us a free stein-full of a local beer. I still don't know for sure if that was German hospitality or if he was just trying to give me a hangover so I wouldn't play well! Either way, I had a great time thanks to some great, welcoming people. |

ncfg Mon Dec 22, 2003 22:17 UTC Stuttgart seems to be nice; one of my favorite’s Portuguese football players Fernando Meira is in Stuttgart team. :) | shellybelly567 Wed Nov 19, 2003 21:51 UTC You are so right about German hospitality. I stayed with one of my friends at his parents' house this summer and it was like staying in a 4 star hotel. | Imbi Tue Oct 7, 2003 08:49 UTC There is a new budget flight for this beautiful city from London so hope to see it soon | mrclay2000 Tue Aug 26, 2003 03:18 UTC Hmm. 17 at the time of your visit. A page devoted to flashy cars. No surprise in that combination. . . |
