I didn't have any problems, but there are a couple of standard warnings to be aware of. Always be aware of pickpockets, especially in tourist areas and on crowded subways and buses. Also, be very careful when crossing the street. Pedestrians DON'T really have the right of way and traffic is wild. Taxi drivers in Rome, as in every other city I've ever been to, are crazy drivers!
