The long, tree-lined driveway of La Cienega is reminiscent of an old antebellum, Southern plantation in the United States. It almost makes you want to say, "Run, Forest, run!" When you learn a bit about the history of the place, you realize it's as historically important as most old Southern plantations as well.
It was originally purchased in 1695, but has served as a base for scientist studying everything from geology to ecology and is now a beautiful hotel, where guests can enjoy a serene setting, first-class accommodations, close proximity to some remarkable Andean locations and even some fine dining right on the premises.
The Hacienda (or Hosteria) La Cienega is located near Lasso close to Cotopaxi National Park and near Latacunga. |
