Restaurant Name: Trattoria due Torri

This little place is on Campo Santa Margarita in the Dorsoduro area. It is sandwiched between a very-obviously tourist restaurant and a hotel restaurant. If you have any doubt if you are at the right place, look inside ... the place is packed with local Venetian workmen having lunch. The food is wonderful! The proprietor is gregarious and the service is good. A plate of pasta, be it spaghetti or penne or fusilli, is only 5.50 Euro. A 0.25 liter of house wine is 2.00 Euro. An espresso, 1.25 Euro. (If you are thinking that these prices are high, you've never been to Venice ... these are outstanding!) EAT HERE!!! Oh, yes ... there is no cover charge or service charge at this place so be sure to leave your waiter a good tip.

Restaurant Name: Ristoranti al Vagon

This is a family run restaurant (obviously not unusual) that has a varied menu. The food is good; the people running it wonderful. Be sure to say hello to Kiku (the owner's dog). Kiku used to belong to the owner's grandfather who passed away in the summer of 2001. Hopefully, from this, you can tell that it is just a nice place to be and, as a special treat, the food is good, too.

Favorite Dish: Tortillini in cream sauce ... absolutely delicious!

Restaurant Name: Trattoria Serenissima

Watch the owner of this place ... he is a kick! He is personally involved in the operations and every waiter in the place knows it. I don't think a single plate gets served without his personal inspection, a rearrangement of something, and an admonishment for the server. The man is a bundle of energy and you can tell that he loves what he does.
