Manbasa

This is a much fought after town in the 15th and 16th century. Evidenced by the living stones of age-old architect 'Fort Jesus'.

This ancient building is truly magnificent and a major tourist attraction...a must visit for all people who want to laze in the giant sleeping coastal town of Mombasa.

As you noticed from the title Mombasa derived its name from Arab word 'Manbasa' which translates to island of war. This explains the 53 wars fought in this strategic town.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Friendly people and nice ancient building to view
  • Cons:Hot and humid - relaxed manner
  • In a nutshell:Sleeping giant structures of the ancient world.
