Shillong City

Shillong is a fashionable hill station situated in North East India and is the capital of Meghalaya. Just like all Indian Hill station it is a bit overcrowded. You may prefer to stay in Rajiv?s guest house(Aura) to make your journey a little more different. You may visit Cherapunjee and Mawlynning from Shillong. Local site seeing includes 7 points but if you choose to do less you may hire local taxis or even share taxis(Maruti 800) just as the local do with as less as 10 rupees

Orchid Lake Resort:

It?s a life time experience. A neat Bungalow pattern resort beside the Lake Umium/Bara Pani. The unforgettable picturesque, serene nature will beacon you. The wooden and lavish dining room overlooking the lake will always remain in your memory. You may indulge in water sports or may be hitch-hiking the friendly villages. Though it a bit costly for budget travelers but the money will worth it.

Mawlynnong vs Cherapunjiee.

Cherapunjee and associated site seeing includes several spots. There may be rumors about Cherapunjee that it has lost its charm but believe me it is not true. Do not hesitate to visit that place. If you have to make a choice between that make it Cherapunjee/Sohora. It will worth the money
Mawlynnong is a neat and clean village with beautiful small village house. The mail attraction is its garden in front of every village. You can roam about and enjoy the beauty of it. While returning you will find clouds touching the mountains. The journey from Shillong to Mawlynnong is quite long and you may decide to reside in Mawlynnong for a day. But it will be expensive affair as returning from the spot will be difficult as it connected by very little transport. Chance of getting a free cab is difficult as well as costly. The trip is somewhat costly that what it renders.
