"Bergstrasse-Odenwald Geopark" Naturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald by TomInGermany

Hiking in the Odenwald

The hills of the Odenwald region are perfect for hiking whether you are a stroller or a serious hiker. The area abounds with short circular hikes starting and ending at "Nature Parking Lots" to well-marked trails that cross the entire Geopark. Almost all your walks will provide you great views of the surrounding countryside, or natural formations (think Felsenmeer) and/or historic buildings.
All the trails are fairly well marked so if you have a walking (Wandern) map of the area it is really hard to get lost. You can also use the bike (Radfahren) maps but they usually only have the main trails marked on them. If you do happen to lose your way there will almost certainly be a someone biking, walking or running in the area that can point you in the right direction.
