Pretty Village in the Cuckmere Valley

Alfriston is a pretty and traditional village in the Cuckmere Valley, set in the rolling hills of the South Downs. It's a small place and so doesn't take long to visit, just a leisurely day trip from Eastbourne really.

Alfriston has a number of interesting little bookshops and some quaint old pubs and tea shops where you can refuel for the day.

The nearby attractions are the Alfriston Clergy House, a national trust property near the heart of the village, Drusillas Zoo to teh north of the village and the Cuckmere Valley to the south.

Cons:Public transport links are not great, except on Sundays

With an exception of London and York, I've never been to any other place listed in your travel pages, so travelling through them it was a good opportunity to learn more about UK. Excellent photos!
