a good guide is important

I knew very little about Hot Springs before visiting my long-distance on-line match there. I learned about it first hand from her, who had lived there a while, although she was not a native.
The people seemed friendly, like the fellow who took our photo here at one of the many hot springs. For me (in the touristy Hot Springs t-shirt) having grown up in Michigan with its frozen lakes, and never having been to the bigger volcanic parks like Yellowstone, they made it quite an exotic experience.

the promenade

She told me how the promenade was through the hot springs was frequented by lovers. We held hands and sat on the bench and people watched. There was a skateboarder, so we did have to keep an eye on the traffic, but it was for the most part relaxed, park-like. Unlike other parks this was lined with bathhouses, bathhouses with history.

coming back

I did not get to see a whole lot of what Hot Spring has to offer on my first visit, but I am sure that I will be going back in another season of the year.
