| | Charlottesville is a beautiful town in western Virginia that is famous for the homes of Presidents Jefferson and Monroe and the University of Virginia. However, the downtown area offers much more to residents and visitors. In a move to revitalize the downtown area, Main Street was reserved for pedestrians only, and has thrived. This 1/2 mile stretch of downtown, within easy walking distance of the University, is packed with shops and restaurants with huge outdoor seating areas. The night I was there, most of the outdoor areas were packed (on a Thursday night no less!). |
