Having lived in Lucinda from the day I was born until I was 18, I have fond memories of this town (officially classified as a "Village"). Lucinda is a very small farming community of about 300 people and 300 dairy cows. It is dominated by St. Joseph's Church on Route 66. Surrounded by woods and fields, it is a great place for children. It seems like I spent all of my waking hours in the woods or playing football, baseball, and basketball when I was a child.
- Pros:Fresh milk, Great for children, quiet
- Cons:Fresh cow manure on the fields, limited nightlife, sometimes too quiet...
- In a nutshell:A good place to grow up, but a bad place to find a spouse!

We have a small preserved (kind of preserved) iron furnace near where I live: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/tp/1aacc0/
Lucinda is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and you're right...Saint Joe's is the highlight of the area. My mom always pointed out that no matter which way you drive into town, the steeple is the first thing you see. I miss it terribly!
Nice home town. Looked the comfort and peace are around. Nice pics though! (ratna/jakarta)
So beautiful and peaceful. Reminds me of our visit to Lancaster County. I just loved those farms...and the big noses on those cows! I think you love your home town.
