"Camping in the Valley of the Rogue" Valley of the Rogue State Park by Ewingjr98

During our great West Coast Road Trip from Monterey to Vancouver and back in June/July 2007, we decided to camp out our last night. We were looking for a place that was close enough to Monterey to make it back in one day, but we also wanted to drive along the Oregon coast south from Portland. The area around Grants Pass became an obvious choice, and the Valley of the Rogue State Park's location along Interstate 5 sure made it easy to access on our trip. It took us some time to find the park since our map was a little off on the location, but once there we were lucky enough to get the second last campsite. We enjoyed camping here except for the loud people that arrived around 2am and sat up outside swearing up a storm. The next morning I went running along the river, then we drove past Mount Shasta on our way to Napa then home to Monterey!

Beautiful spot! Looks like you all had a great time. I enjoy those spots they many people do not frequent.
