The City that Never Sleeps

5th Avenue, Manhattan
Central Park
What can I say about New York that hasn't already been said? Sure it's a city with lots of traffic and crime, but it also offers something for everyone. Major architectural, historical, and artistic sites are all over Manhattan. The sadness of the World Trade Center site lies in close proximity to the wonders of the Statue of Liberty. Wall Street, Times Square, Central Park, China Town and Little Italy are all unique cultural centers.
Streets of Manhattan
During my most recent 2-day stay in Manhattan I spent the night at the Radisson, and did all of my sightseeing in Manhattan, visiting most of the southern half of the island from Central Park to Battery Park and most everything in between. I have also visited New York on two other occasions.

New York riddle: Which number comes next in this series? 34, 42, 50, 59, 66, 72, 79, 86, 91, 96, 103, 110, ...? Answer: 116, because that's the next station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line. (I always used to get off at 116th Street.)

Re Mass Transit, the lines are grouped together according to which route they share in Manhattan. The difference in designation between letters and numbers goes back a century to when these were all under private ownership and competing with one another.

I would have taken back the tip in that Vietnamese restaurant. Clearly it wasn't deserved. I didn't know parking was free on Sunday?! Never heard about that!
