Red Roof Inn and other Nashua, NH Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

I spent many, many, many nights at the Nashua Red Roof Inn in 2002 while I was between apartments -- probably around 50 nights! During my various stays, they were upgrading and remodeling the rooms. Now they are complete and the new rooms are a very nice improvement, especially the desks in the business rooms. The hotel has few perks other than a free newspaper and coffee, but it is close to the Pheasant Lane Mall and offers easy access to Boston via Route 3. There are also good jogging opportunities west along Spit Brook Road. This is one of the least expensive hotels in the area. They offer free coffee in the lobby and free USA Today newspapers.

I spent one week at the Sheraton after bidding on Priceline and getting a $110 room for only $50. This is a nice, but old hotel with large rooms. It is located just across Route 3 from the Red Roof Inn, so offers the same features such as easy access to the Route 3A shopping areas including Pheasant Lane Mall, as well as good running routes west out Spit Brook Road. There is also a trail behind the hotel that parallels Route 3 that I jogged on a few times (maybe illegally?). This is probably the nicest hotel in Nashua, but since it is 3 miles from downtown, the location is not ideal.

I spent one week at the Motel 6 in Nashua during the year 2002 and it left a lot to be desired. It is an older hotel in a poorer section of town. Because the rooms open to the parking lot, it tends to be noisy and dirty. If you are in Nashua and on a budget, stay at the Red Roof Inn, where the prices are about the same, the rooms are brand new, and you have easier access to Nashua's shopping and restaurant centers.

I spent a few weeks at the Extended Stay America on the northern end of Nashua. This is a newer hotel on the quiet edge of town. The rooms are new, clean, and have kitchenettes, but there is nothing in this neighborhood to do without a short drive. The only restaurant nearby is the "99" located in the basement of the Comfort in on exit 6 of Route 3. Because this is an extended stay hotel, you will not have daily maid service as you would get at a normal hotel.

Nice, clean, and new, but too far off the beaten path.
