St. Petersburg is the fourth largest city in Florida with 245,314 residents. St. Pete was named after Saint Petersburg, Russia, where Peter Demens, one of the city's founders, spent half of his youth. St. Pete sits along Tampa Bay, but is blocked from the Gulf of Mexico by its sister city, St. Pete Beach.
St. Pete is older and more touristy than nearby Tampa, but it does have its share of attractions. Young people like the Saturday farmers market and the local baseball team, while old people enjoy the Salvador Dali Museum and the Pier with its horrible upside pyramid building. Everyone enjoys the waterfront parks.

The Famous Kiss is one of my favorite photographs! Seeing they have an statue is awesome! Appreciate the history of Demens Landing! That hotel looks fabulous. Wonderful page!
