"The White Mountains Region of New Hampshire" New Hampshire by Ewingjr98

New Hampshire Travel Guide: 1,516 reviews and 4,432 photos

When I lived in Nashua, NH, I made at least 8 or 10 trips up into the White Mountains, mostly to show off my beautiful new state to friends and family. My favorite time of year is fall when the leaves are changing and the weather is still nice, just avoid the busy weekends. Kancamagus Scenic Byway is a favorite drive for many leaf peepers.

I always enjoyed trying to see Mount Washington, home of the world's worst recored weather, but I could rarely see the top through the thick clouds.

Another unique area was the Old Man of the Mountain; he has since lost his head, but he managed to get his mug on the quarter for eternity. See my tip for more details.

What lovely mountain scenery, rivers, and that fall is so beautiful. See, I think me and SteveOSF agree what wonderful treasure are hidden here.
